WASH and Health Promotion in Yendi
Clean Communities, Healthy Futures
At Yendi Youth Connect, we promote inclusive, community-driven WASH and health solutions. From clean water access and menstrual hygiene to sanitation awareness, we empower families, schools, and underserved groups to lead healthier lives.
Why WASH & Health Matter
Transforming Health Through WASH and Health Promotion in Yendi
Clean water, good hygiene, and informed health choices are foundational to human dignity and sustainable development. Unfortunately, many in Yendi still lack basic access to safe water and sanitation services, especially women and children.
Yendi Youth Connect addresses these gaps through localized, inclusive, and evidence-based programming. Our WASH and Health Promotion in Yendi improves community wellbeing by blending education, behavior change communication, infrastructure support, and advocacy. Every activity reflects our belief in health equity and community ownership.

Goals of Our WASH and Health Promotion in Yendi
We implement WASH and health programs in Yendi that ensure no one is left behind—especially rural households, adolescent girls, and vulnerable communities.

Expand Clean Water Access
Promote safe, accessible water sources for communities and schools, reducing disease and time spent fetching water.
Strengthen Hygiene Education
Improve knowledge and practices around personal hygiene through school clubs, mosques, and community outreach.
Promote Menstrual Health Support
Ensure adolescent girls have access to accurate information, reusable pads, and safe spaces to manage menstruation with dignity.
Improve Household Sanitation
Use behavior change models and local champions to eliminate open defecation and promote household latrine use.
Community Hygiene Education & BCC
Using behavior change communication (BCC), school clubs, peer educators, and mosque-based outreach, we improve hygiene knowledge and inspire everyday action around handwashing, personal hygiene, and sanitation.
Expanding Community Water Access
We work with communities and stakeholders to identify, repair, and sustain water sources like boreholes and earth dams. This ensures safe, nearby, and reliable access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene.
Menstrual Health Education & Dignity Kits
Through school clubs and girls’ circles, we provide training on menstruation, distribute reusable pads, and advocate for stigma-free spaces where adolescent girls can manage their periods confidently and safely.
Household Sanitation & Waste Management
We pilot youth-led sanitation models and promote the construction of basic latrines, safe waste disposal, and clean-up actions at the household level—helping to eliminate open defecation and improve environmental health.
Faith-Based and Cultural Engagement
We engage religious leaders, traditional authorities, and local influencers to shape community norms around cleanliness, water use, menstrual taboos, and gender equity—ensuring long-term community ownership and trust.
