Yendi Young Achievers Club – Lead With Purpose
The Yendi Young Achievers Club (YYAC) empowers students in JHS and SHS schools across Yendi to build confidence, leadership, and life skills through weekly mentorship sessions, radio talks, podcasts, and civic activities.
Building Confidence, Character & Community in Yendi Schools
The Yendi Young Achievers Club (YYAC) is a youth empowerment pilot program launched by Yendi Youth Connect (YYC) to address widespread challenges faced by adolescents—low confidence, poor decision-making, and lack of role models. Operating in 5 Junior High Schools and 3 Senior High Schools, the club targets 160 motivated students who participate in weekly activities focused on leadership, communication, ethics, and civic engagement.
Students are engaged in public speaking, debates, digital storytelling, and group projects, and also benefit from monthly inter-school forums, mentorship sessions with local achievers, radio discussions, and a transformative mentorship trip during school vacation. The project is endorsed by the Yendi Municipal Education Directorate and supported by local media and civic leaders.

Youth Reached
Empowering Students to Lead, Think, and Inspire
In Yendi, many adolescents face insecurity, low self-worth, and poor guidance at a critical stage of their development. These gaps lead to major social issues like cybercrime, drug abuse, early pregnancy, and school dropouts. The formal education system rarely provides the mentorship, real-life training, or exposure students need to make informed life choices.
Establish Clubs Across Schools
Launch YYAC clubs in 8 schools with structured weekly activities to engage students in self-discovery, leadership, and purpose.
Boost Confidence and Expression
Help students overcome fear and shyness through public speaking, debates, poetry, and storytelling challenges.
Bridge Students with Mentors
Connect youth with inspiring professionals and achievers from Yendi who model success and provide guidance.
What the Yendi Young Achievers Club Will Deliver
These are the short- and long-term impacts we envision from the pilot phase of the program.

More Confident & Articulate Youth
Students who once feared public speaking now speak boldly in class, on radio, and at public events.
Strengthened Civic Participation
Students become ambassadors of change, leading discussions on school sanitation, peacebuilding, and social issues.
Digital Responsibility & Creativity
Youth learn to use social media for advocacy, storytelling, and podcasting—sharing powerful messages across Yendi.
